With the aim of highlighting the knowledge, experience, and leadership of Ibero-American women in various fields, the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI) today launched the dialogue series “Expert Women, Decision-Making Women.”
The first meeting, held at the Spanish Representation of the European Commission in Madrid, brought together experts from different disciplines, representatives of government institutions, international organizations, research centers, civil society, and the private sector to reflect on climate change and the energy transition—two of the most pressing challenges on today’s global political agenda.
This dialogue is part of the activities carried out by the OEI’s Ibero-American Program on Education in Human Rights, Democracy and Equality, and within the framework of the “Voices of Ibero-American Women” platform, promoted since 2024 by the OEI and the Carlos III University of Madrid. The event also served as an opportunity to present the Energytran project, led by the OEI and funded by the European Union, which aims to contribute to the design of public policies for a clean, just, and sustainable digital transformation in Europe and Latin America.
Representing the Energytran project, Dr. Noemí Sogari, a teaching and research professor at FaCENA-UNNE, participated as a member of the project consortium.
Dr. Noemí Sogari is the director of the Research Group on Sustainable Energy and Environmental Care (GIESMA) at FaCENA, and has been working for over 20 years on the development of solar thermal systems.
The results of the research projects “Optimization of the solar water heater built at FaCENA,” “Solar dryer for fruit and vegetable products,” and “Hybrid solar-electric wood dryer” have enabled various communities to access the technological advances developed in the laboratory. These initiatives contribute to the availability of clean and affordable energy, many of them aligned with the objectives of the Energytran project.
